A Little Sunday

Which Kingdom are we Laughing with?

“There’s a saying when the devil ignores you, then you know you’re doing something right, The devil goes, ‘Oh no leave him alone, he’s my favorite’. Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it’s because he’s trying to do something right.- Denzel Washington

When the kingdom of hell celebrates it is time to take up the full armor of God.

Whatever we do should glorify God. At the very least, whatever we do should not disappoint the Kingdom of Heaven.

“…Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Philippians 2:12-13 KJV

It is easy to say “it’s just this once, I’ll ask for forgiveness later, I just need time to get over this feeling”… but it is up to us individually to discern and make our own decisions while asking ourselves; is my complacency worth it? Is heaven celebrating me today or is hell giving me a thumbs up?

Even though we may believe we are spiritually grounded at times, God may send someone to speak a word to us. It may be a reminder of what we already know, an eye opening message or a nugget for an upcoming season etc. Though it may be hard to hear or upset us, or upset the person we give the word to, rest assured that you have spoken the word of God, that you have now planted the seed, and pray for that seed to grow in its season. That season may be now, days months or years away; our obedience is all that matters.

A few years ago someone told me “I don’t believe in prophecy, if God wants me to hear something He will tell me Himself”. I couldn’t help but feel sadness at the thought of how many good words/seeds could’ve been sown into their life if they stopped rejecting the plans of God for them based on who the messenger was. Perhaps God had many plans for that person which He had been trying to communicate to them but they were too busy, too stressed, too busy dealing with the disappointments in their life. Failing to see that their viewpoint, goals of achievements were not Gods’ plan for them. God never fails, nor is it in His best interest to watch us fail or live in discouragement. He WANTS to do miracles, but many times we block or our blessings, wether through disobedience, stubbornness, hurt or unbelief.

“Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.””

Matthew 22:37-40 NLT

Do NOT Conform but be Transformed!

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Romans 12:2 NLT

Support and Love are two different things.

It is our first and greatest duty to LOVE God and others, but it is not our obligation to support everything. Ask yourself “am I conforming to the beliefs of this world or am I willing to be transformed by renewing my mind to fit in with Gods’ desire?” “Who am I more obligated to please? Myself? This world? Or my creator?”

Do not miss or delay your blessings by celebrating, taking part in, or supporting what disappoints God. His blessing and favor is more valuable than worldly gains or being liked.

Here is an example of the difference; we can love someone through our differences and the decisions they choose to make for themselves, but should not support their decision to go to hell even if it makes them “Happy”. The Bible tells us that when God comes back for His world, He was disappointed at the number of people who would go to heaven. Do we want to be in support of those He leaves behind? Is that REAL love? Will we love seeing the torment they are about to go through for eternity? Again… Is that REAL love?

Being politically correct is now almost a law in most of our minds. We don’t want to disappoint others or God forbid “get cancelled,” but if our standards or political correctness entices satan, is it worth it?

Remember those who have the power to “cancel” us can only do so on social media but they do not have a heaven or hell to put us in. Nor can they stop the plans or blessings God has for us. Only WE can do that. Sand firm on the world and risk losing it all to please the One who is able to restore, bring restitution and bless us in abundance beyond what we can ever imagine. He IS a God if the impossible. When we hurt He sees the bigger picture. He stands at the beginning and the end of time. Everything is already done! Do not be discouraged, when the world or those around us turn against us for speaking the truth, remember; they did it to Jesus too.
