A Little Sunday, Faith

Noah

“So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him.”

Genesis 6:22 NLT

“When everything was ready, the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the boat with all your family, for among all the people of the earth, I can see that you alone are righteous.”

Genesis 7:1 NLT

God can see that you are the only person qualified for the task He has given you.

Even if it hasn’t been done before. People aren’t meant to understand. There’s no miracle in normalcy !! (If everyone is doing the same thing, it is not a miracle, it is normal)

“Then the Lord closed the door behind them.”

Genesis 7:16 NLT

God had instructed Noah to build an Ark for himself and his family. He explained to Noah that he (Noah) alone was righteous, unlike all the other people living on earth. Yet God still took the initiative to shut the Ark’s door behind Noah.

Sometimes, God takes it up on Himself to shut out, or sever ties with the people that we choose to bring into every new season that we enter into, because their connection in our lives were only meant for that season(s). It is therefore very important that we learn how to discern the difference between those who are meant to be a part of our destines, stories, or journey, and those who are only meant to teach us a lesson, help us grow in wisdom/strength, and are ONLY meant to be there for that chosen season or point in time.

Noah might let some people back in, that God was trying to separate him from. God called Noah for a higher purpose so God Himself had to sever those ties, shut some doors, and have him floating for 150 days without the distraction of the thing or person that God didn’t invite into the promised land.

Those who can’t see the purpose that God has for their lives, won’t see the purpose He has for yours either.

More often than not, they will offer discouraging advice that’ll cause you to doubt the word you received from God too. Teachers of the word frequently use the analogy that the people around Noah may have made fun of Noah, because He was building a huge Ark on dry land, possibly a land that was known for being stuck in a drought (Dry Season). Many times, we become so use to our situation (dry season) that when God tells someone else that their season is about to change, we can’t see it. May I attest to you that not every miracle God is about to do is for our eyes to see, we just have to focus on and be prepared and pray for the miracle/ move of God that He wants us to be a part of.

It isn’t always for our eyes to see what God wants to do in everyone else’ lives, likewise, it isn’t for everyones eyes to see what God want to do in our lives.

When God shuts a door, remember He was listening to what people had to say about you when you weren’t around. Don’t dwell on losing people who weren’t meant to stay.

Ever randomly had a thought or business idea that you think is a good idea, but no one had done it before?

Then you share it with the wrong person and they want to add their own ideas, or make your ‘God given’ idea sound unrealistic?

It wasn’t meant for them to understand or try to make sense of. God gave YOU the vision. Keep building your Ark. The same people who doubt you on dry land will seek you out when you begin to float and eventually enter into God’s promise. (When your life becomes a testimony of the Omnipotence God).

The Bible tells us that God will lift us up in the presence of our enemies/doubters  (Psalms 23:5 & 27:6) and that when the enemy comes rushing in like a flood;  He will raise a standard (59:19)…

We don’t always have to be on the battle ground, defending/debating wether our God given purpose makes sense to others. Sometimes we have to get off the battlefield and get into floating position. I declare that in this season, like Noah…you will begin to float!

The same God that parted the red sea, heals the sick, made the Heaven and Earth has the instruction manual, and like Noah who got up and built his Ark, we just have to show up!

“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”

King James Version

“For we live by believing and not by seeing.”

New Living Translation

2 Corinthians5:7NLT

The rain hadn’t begun to fall yet, but Noah had faith that God was going to do what He said He was going to do, and more importantly Noah had a WORD! Noah ran with the word.

REFLECTIONS;

What did God give you that only YOU can fulfill?

God instruct you to do/ learn in this season of Covid-19?

While it isn’t a part of this message, it is vital that we remember, that after Noah entered into a fresh start, God promised that He would never again destroy the whole earth and every living thing with a flood. He gave us His rainbow as a promise that He wouldn’t destroy us for our “wicked ways”… may we not hide under the promise of Gods rainbow, while continually, shamelessly, and without repentance; doing the things that displease Him.

This is not limited to a particular sin. When we grasp the concept of “pray reading” the word, we learn to use the scriptures as our guide in prayers. Therefore, when we pray we stand on the word of God. E.g. Father you said in your word that you are a comforter, so right now I ask for your comfort in Jesus’ name or Father you promised never to destroy us for our sins, so I thank you that you are a faithful God and a promise keeper, and so I stand on your word and ask for your guidance in how to turn away from the things in my life that displease you.
